Here are some terms and phrases that show up semi-frequently in my blog;
Blue Lake – Located in eastern Washington in the Soap Lake chain, Timmah’s folks have a place there and it’s been the site of the annual “Guy’s Weekend” since 1982 and hosted numerous Gang events as well.
Cycle U – Cycle University “Learn Fast, Ride Smart”. In addition to taking classes and getting coaching from Cycle U, I also ride for their road bike racing team.Golfapalooza – An annual week of golf, food, and fun for Mr. Jones, Timmah, and I
DCA - Disney's California Adventure, the 2nd Park at the Disneyland Resort.
Eli - Our eldest Golden Retriever
The Gang – Our group of friends
Guys’ Weekend – Usually held in May, it’s a chance for The Old Guys to go to Blue Lake leaving wives, kids, pets at home and spend and extending weekend playing golf and horseshoes, drinking beer, and answering life’s deeper questions
GYGIG or The Ride – Get Your Guts In Gear, a 210 mile 3 Day bike ride to raise awareness of Crohn’s and Ulcerative Colitis. In addition to riding and crewing I also serve on the Board as President
L&T – The Lovely & Talented Mrs. Smith my long suffering wife since January 1991 who writes her own blog here
M & m – The L&T’s best friend since high school (M) and her daughter (m) who live in Boise. Though not blood related (m) is frequently referred to as our niece because it’s easier than explaining the whole story
Mr. Jones – Brother, best friend, and golfing partner, see his blog here
Mr. Suitcase – My friend, fellow bike racer, and GYGIG rider. We only got a chance to meet face to face this last June at the NYC Ride. He writes a blog found here
The Old Guys – A subset of “The Gang” that comprise of the men in the group, some of whom have been friends since elementary school. The Old Guys include Mr. Jones, Timmah, GD, Rattler, The Mancow, and Gefualt (and me)
The Park – Disneyland, where the L&T and I both worked and met. To answer the most common question, no, I was not a character, I worked on the Davey Crocket Explorer Canoes attraction and was part of the Splash Mountain opening crew. The L&T worked in Custodial (yep, mixed marriage). “The Park” is one of many Disney shorthand comments that pepper our conversations
Timmah – Brother, best friend, and golfing partner, the name is from the South Park character (but not for the reason you might think)
